Wisteria brachybotrys Shiro-Kapitan Fuji

Commonly known as ‘Silky Wisteria’, Wisteria brachybotrys is one of the most dependable woody climbers you can buy! ‘Shiro-Kapitan Fuji’ is a unique wisteria variety displaying stunning bright flowers with a central yellow stain. Its blooms appear late spring/early summer in hanging sprays between 10-15 cm long and will fill your garden with a lovely, sweet scent. Its twining stems are fast growing, developing anticlockwise and bear large green leaves which turn a bright golden yellow in autumn. The seedpods give it the common name as they have a soft, silky appearance and are present throughout winter. Wisterias require significant support, so we recommend growing it up a trellis, wall, or pergola.

This climber will grow happily in any soil type that is moist and well-drained. Preferring full-sun or partial shade ‘Shiro-Kapitan Fuji’ needs shelter and a large amount of light.
