Phygelius capensis Red Emperor - Cape Fuchsia
Availability: Out of stock
If you don't know Phygelius, it is time to have this plant in your garden! A native of South Africa, Cape Fuchsias as they are also known are tough, hardy, long-lived and semi-evergreen perennial sub-shrubs.
Bred in Sussex and developed to be a sturdy garden plant, Red Emperor is a superior new form of Phygelius with compact bushy growth and masses of flowers.
It will excel in a garden border or container and flower from early Summer in to Autumn. Thriving in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil it is ideal for use in a mixed border, where you can really appreciate why it received the name Cape Fuchsia.
All summer long this variety carries tall spikes of narrow deep-red trumpets with a yellow throat above dark green foliage, up to 70cms tall.
Supplied in approx 2-3 litre containers.
