Wallflower Orange - Pack of Six Plants
Availability: Out of stock
Used by gardeners for decades as a classic spring bedding plant, both in private gardens and in our local parks. A tough sturdy compact plant, this Wallflower produces spikes of bright orange flowers in early spring and hold their colour for many weeks, gradually turning to a lighter Apricot colour. The Wallflower have a thick coat of thin lanceolate mid to dark green leaves that set these flowers off beautifully and the whole plant reaches a height and spread of around thirty centimetres.
Wallflowers’ ‘Orange’ is usually treated as an annual bedding plant, but it will live on if left in place and may even self-seed. It likes full sun and tolerates most soils except ones that waterlog on a regular basis. It grows happily in all aspects and is very tolerant of the cold, be it frosts or chilly winds. Dead head regularly in the spring to keep the plant producing new flowers and pick over any dead leaves at the end of the winter.
Wallflower is used for dramatic spring displays and like all spring bedding their beauty is greatly enhanced by combining them at planting time with bulbs, particularly Tulips or Daffodils. They look great edging a border or planted in a block where they will provide much needed colour as the winter s end nears. Wallflowers are quite happy to grow in containers if you are a balcony or patio grower. Pack of six.
