Typha latifolia 'Variegata'

Product ref: AQ25933

Availability: Out of stock

Commonly referred to as Variegated Cattail, Typha latifolia 'Variegata' is an eye-catching aquatic perennial that gives pond edges and water gardens a distinctive texture and colour. The characteristic brown flower spikes that emerge in the middle to late summer of this variety are easily recognised by its tall, green, and cream-striped foliage. Even when the plant is not in flower, the variegated leaves provide visual interest.

Plant in full sun to partial shade in rich, loamy soil. 'Variegata' is ideal for planting around the edges of ponds, streams, or other water features because it grows well in shallow water up to 30 cm deep. To maintain constant moisture in the soil, water it frequently. Once established, this low-maintenance plant needs very little attention.

Supplied in approx. 9cm nursery pot.
