Tomato 'Scatolone'

Famous for its plum-shaped, long, and elongated fruits, the tomato variety 'Scatolone' is a traditional Italian inheritance variety. These tomatoes are perfect for cooking, sauces, and pastes because of their meaty texture and rich, sweet flavour. Because 'Scatolone' is a determinate variety, it yields a concentrated harvest, which is ideal for gardeners who want to process a lot of tomatoes at once.

Plant in rich, well-drained soil that receives full sun. Water the soil frequently to maintain an even moisture level, and mulch to keep moisture in the soil and keep weeds out. It takes less staking because 'Scatolone' is a determinate variety, but you can give it support to keep the fruit off the ground. Use a well-balanced tomato fertiliser on a regular basis. To preserve plant health and get rid of any yellowing leaves, prune.
