Plant in rich, well-drained soil that receives full sun. Water the soil frequently to maintain an even moisture level, and mulch to keep moisture in the soil and keep weeds out. To manage their fast growth and large fruit sets, support the plants with strong cages or stakes. Use a well-balanced tomato fertiliser on a regular basis. Prune to increase air circulation and get rid of suckers, both of which help stave off illness.
