Tomato 'Homestead'

The tomato variety 'Homestead' is a hardy and dependable heirloom that is renowned for its large to medium-sized red fruits with a globe shape. These tomatoes are great for salads, cooking, and fresh eating because of their rich, traditional tomato flavour and excellent sweetness to acidity ratio. Because "Homestead" is a determinate variety, it yields a concentrated crop, which makes it a great choice for home gardeners seeking a large yield over a shorter growing season.

Plant in rich, well-drained soil that receives full sun. Water the soil frequently to maintain an even moisture level, and mulch to keep moisture in the soil and keep weeds out. Although 'Homestead' is a determinate variety, it can still benefit from some staking to control its growth and fruit weight. Use a well-balanced tomato fertiliser on a regular basis.
