Plant in rich, well-drained soil that receives full sun. Water regularly to maintain an even moisture level in the soil, and mulch to keep moisture in and keep weeds out. As the plants get taller and start to produce large clusters of fruit, support them with cages or stakes. Use a well-balanced tomato fertiliser on a regular basis. Pruning encourages healthier plants and higher yields by removing suckers and enhancing air circulation.Â
