Plant in rich, well-drained soil that receives full sun. Water the soil frequently to maintain an even moisture level, and mulch to keep moisture in the soil and keep weeds out. For the best flavour and texture, harvest the fruits when their diameter is between 5 and 7 cm. Pick the squash frequently to promote ongoing production. Combine with other companion plants, such as nasturtiums or beans, to promote growth and ward off pests.Â
