Plant in rich, well-drained soil that receives full sun. Give plants plenty of room to grow and spread their sprawling vines. Water regularly to maintain an even moisture level in the soil, and mulch to keep moisture in and prevent weed growth. Harvest the squash in late autumn, once the skin has hardened and it has reached its full colour.Â
