Gourmet winter squash variety 'Delicata Honeyboat' is prized for its delicate texture and is one of the sweetest tasting squashes available. The oblong fruits have a lovely orange and green striped skin. This variety is highly regarded for stuffing, roasting, and baking because of its excellent flavour, which is reminiscent of sweet potatoes. They have a long storage life once harvested so they can be enjoyed well into the winter months.
Supplied in approx. 9cm pot.
Plant in rich, well-drained soil that receives full sun. Plants require enough space to grow to their full potential. Water regularly to maintain an even moisture level in the soil, and mulch to keep moisture in and prevent weed growth. Harvest the squash in late autumn, once the skin has hardened and it has reached its full colour.Â
