Squash 'Blue Hubbard'
Availability: Out of stock
'Blue Hubbard' is a unique heritage variety of squash distinguished by its large, teardrop-shaped fruits with a gorgeous blue-grey rind. Its orange flesh is dense, sweet, and perfect for roasting, baking, and soups. You can enjoy the rich flavour of this winter squash throughout the colder months because it stores well. 'Blue Hubbard' produces remarkably large fruits and is very productive.
Plant in rich, well-drained soil that receives full sun. Give plants plenty of room to grow because they require this much space. Water regularly to maintain an even moisture level in the soil, and mulch to keep moisture in and prevent weed growth. Harvest the squash in late autumn, once the skin has hardened and it has reached its full colour. For one week, let it cure in a warm, dry place before storing it in a cool, dark place.
