Sophora microphylla 'Sun King'

A tall and broad evergreen shrub, ‘Sun King’ gives you stunning Winter and Spring colour as well as year-round foliage! This shrub is bushy in habit with small, glossy attractive pinnate leaves covering the strong stems with a lovely dark green hue. Bright yellow flowers bloom from late Winter to early Spring in downy clusters along the tree’s short racemes. ‘Sun King’ has an ultimate height and spread of 1.5-2.5 meters and as a result it looks great at the back of a mixed border and can also be planted on mass to produce an informal hedge. 

This plant requires full sun and well-drained soil. However, it is able to establish in any soil type or pH. It is hardy in most UK climates and as a result will thrive in both exposed and sheltered gardens.
