Silver Leaf Dusty Miller Plant - Senecio cineraria 'Silver Dust'
Availability: In stock
‘Silverdust’ a stunning and popular plant that can be grown as compact perennial evergreen shrub or as a summer bedding specimen. It has beautiful silver leaves, slightly downy in nature and densely packed. This silver foliage looks great as a foil against the darker foliage or flowers of surrounding plants and its heavily lobed leaves shimmer in the sunlight. A neat and compact ‘Silverdust’ reaches a maximum height and spread of fifty centimetres and has the bonus of producing clusters of yellow flowers in the summer.
This Senecio loves a nice sunny spot, preferably South or west facing. It grows in any soil type with good drainage and is even resilient in a colder exposed site but avoid ground that is regularly frosted.
‘Silverdust’ has been awarded the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit Winner and is a versatile character in the garden, try planting it among the herbaceous plants in a border or use a dot plant in a bedding display, rising out of bright colours or try planting it in a container offset against the dark foliage of a plant such as Heuchera.
