Kilmarnock Willow - Salix caprea pendula Kilmarnock - Large Standard Weeping Pussy Willow Tree
Availability: Out of stock
'Kilmarnock Willow' tree, also known as Pussy Willow
These form a lovely small, umbrella-like, male tree with stiffly pendulous branches. Each year these carry attractive silvery catkins studded with golden anthers in late winter to spring. Fully hardy, with dark green leaves with a silvery-grey-green underside in summer. In mid- to late spring, the bare branches are covered in 'silver pussies' that turn into golden male catkins, these are superb in cut-flower arrangements.
An ideal tree for the small garden. It will grow no taller than it's current size but will thicken right out year on year to provide an ever better show.
These would look great flanking the entrance to your home, or by the rear doors opening out onto the patio.
They look particularly good displayed in attractive contemporary flared planters.
Supplied as a premium quality, large heavy plant in a 4-5 litre container with a multi grafted bushy head on an approx. 80-100cm clear stem, overall height around 100-120cm tall - much larger than our competitors!
