Pyracantha Red Column - Firethorn

Pyracantha ‘Red Column’ is a vigorous, evergreen shrub prized for its dense growth, seasonal flowers, and brilliant red berries. In late spring to early summer, clusters of small, white flowers cover the branches, attracting bees and other pollinators. By autumn, these give way to abundant glossy, bright red berries that persist well into winter, providing a vital food source for birds. Its thorny branches make it an excellent choice for intruder-proof hedging, screening, or training against a wall or fence. Tough and adaptable, it thrives in various conditions, including urban and coastal gardens.

It grows well in any well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. It is ideal for hedging, wildlife gardens, or as a wall-trained feature. Prune after flowering to maintain shape and encourage berry production. Drought-tolerant once established but benefits from occasional watering in dry periods.
