Rhododendron 'Wilgens Ruby'

‘Wilgens Ruby’ is the perfect versatile shrub for any garden! Similarly to most Rhododendrons this is an evergreen shrub, providing you with attractive, glossy dark green leaves all year round. Blooming in late Spring, this shrub’s large, light green buds open into stunning tubular-shaped dark red flowers adding vibrant colour which contrast amazingly with the dark foliage. It has an ultimate height and spread of 1.5-2.5 metres and so is well suited to add structure to the middle of a mixed border or can also be planted on mass to create informal hedging.

Similarly to other Rhododendrons ‘Wilgens Ruby’ requires slightly acidic soil and prefers to be placed in a moist but well-drained area. This shrub is best suited to sheltered gardens and should be protected from cold winds. Make sure to plant in full sun or partial shade.
