Rhododendron Marie Fortie

Garden aficionados love the gorgeous evergreen shrub Rhododendron 'Marie Fortie' for its amazing flower displays. Large, vivid purple blooms that bloom profusely in late spring and make a dramatic visual effect in any garden setting are the variety's most well-known feature.

'Marie Fortie' is perfect for borders, woodland gardens, or as a stand-alone specimen in well-drained, acidic soil. It reaches a mature height and spread of approximately 1.5 metres. It grows best in gentle shade, allowing its blossoms to fully open up without being overly bleached by the sun. For a lovely understory look, combine this rhododendron with other shade-loving plants like ferns and hostas.
