Rhamnus cathartica, commonly known as Buckthorn, is available in our collection as a pack of 12 bare root hedging plants, each measuring 60-80cm in height. This native shrub is valued not only for its dense, thorny branches that make an excellent security hedge but also for its ecological benefits. In spring, it produces inconspicuous greenish flowers, followed by glossy black berries in the autumn, which are a vital food source for birds and other wildlife.

Buckthorn is highly adaptable, thriving in a variety of soil types and conditions, including partial shade to full sun.
