Growing to a height of around 3 metres (8-9ft), Rose 'Goldfinch' is a tame rambler, so is a fantastic choice if you want a rambling rose but need one that is not overly vigorous. It is a multiflora variety, producing a huge abundance of strong, sweet smelling little yellow flowers in summer on almost thornless branches. Ideal for training up a wall, over a pergola or on a rose arch, Goldfinch has all the romance of those traditional cottage gardens of yesteryear. It will cope with poorer soils and a bit of shade if you don't have the best position for it too. If you keep it well pruned and provide some support it can also be grown as a large stand-alone shrub rose. Supplied in approx 5 litre containers. available from mid November
