This is an absolute stunner of a rose, loved for its reliable garden performance and traditional English country garden look - although with the name Dublin Bay it is very appealing to those with an Irish ancestry. A classic red rose with beautiful deep burgundy-red cupped flowers, they are lightly scented and formed on good long stems, which also makes them ideal for cutting and bringing into the home as well as enjoying in the garden. With a bit of careful winter pruning, its main stems form a neat growing framework that suits wall-training very well, but it can also be grown up a pergola or rose arch. A compact climber reaching 2.5 metres (8ft), it won't take over so is ideal where a climber is required in smaller spaces and gardens where space is restricted.
