Pyracantha Teton - Firethorn

A hardy evergreen shrub that can help form the backbone of a garden border. It has glossy small evergreen leaves that form a dense covering over its spiky framework.

Reaching up to three metres plus in height and spread the Pyracantha produces masses of flowers set in plate formation in early summer. These are then followed by huge quantities of bright yellow - orange berries that usually cover the plants entire form.

The plant is not a fussy character and grows in all soils and aspects, a mulch of compost around its base each spring will suffice.

Grow Pyracantha as a wall shrub in a mixed border or if you have an area you want to protect then its thorny nature and dense foliage will deter any trespasser.
