Pyracantha 'Golden Paradise' - Yellow Firethorn

The firethorn (pyracantha) has been much loved in the UK as it provides you with flowers, bright winter berries, and thick evergreen foliage. However, ‘Golden Paradise’ is the first and only firethorn with all-yellow foliage making it the ideal statement shrub for your garden! The foliage is most intense in the first half of the year with vibrant red-flushed, yellow leaves emerging in Spring and covering this shrub in amazing seasonal colour. As summer progresses the leaves fade to a mix of light green and yellow before they then brighten again in Autumn developing characteristic red tints. Inconspicuous white flowers bloom in April and May then giving way to the amazing autumnal orange berries which stand out against the yellow leaves. The berries then turn a rusty-red right before they fall. A unique small to medium sized shrub, ‘Golden Paradise’ is perfect for use in a mixed border to contrast other plants and can also be used on mass to create an informal hedge. 

Make sure to plant ‘Golden Paradise’ in full sun or partial shade and in moist but well-drained soil. A hardy shrub, this Pyracantha can thrive in exposed areas as well as sheltered areas and is able to establish in any soil type or pH.
