Prunus nipponica 'Ruby'

A charming little tree with remarkable ornamental attributes, Prunus nipponica 'Ruby' is ideal for bringing colour to any garden. This endemic to Japan blooms profusely in the early spring, with vivid pink blossoms that really set it out. The summertime foliage, which was originally golden, changes to a rich green, offering a continuous show of colour.

'Ruby' is a great choice for tiny gardens or patios because it can be easily included in a variety of landscape designs due to its modest height of 2–3 metres. It grows best in soil that drains well and receives full sun or partial shade. It is incredibly hardy and takes little maintenance.
