Polystichum setiferum proliferum Plumosum Densum - Mossy Soft Shield Fern

This is perhaps the most handsome of all Polystichum setiferum varieties available, also known as the Mossy Soft Shield Fern thanks to the gorgeous foliage.

Displaying compact growth with upright fronds, each of which are finely divided with overlapping leaflets. The overall effect is one of subtle, soft elegance that almost invites you to caress the leaves - just like, in fact, a large bed of moss encountered on the forest floor. With this unique appearance, Polystichum setiferum 'Plumosum Densum' is of course extremely popular, making a wonderful garden plant.
