Polygonum bistorta
Availability: In stock
The hardy perennial Polygonum bistorta, sometimes called bistrot, adds pretty pink flower spikes to your garden in late spring or early summer. Above a basal rosette of big, lance-shaped leaves, the dense, bottlebrush-like flower heads rise to a height on slender stems. This plant works well in borders, cottage gardens, and damp meadows to provide vertical interest and a pop of colour.
Â
Plant in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained soil. Because bistort grows best in consistently damp environments, it's a great plant to plant next to ponds, streams, or in bog gardens. In particular during dry spells, water the soil frequently to maintain an even moisture content. Deadhead spent flowers to stop self-seeding and promote ongoing blooming.Â

Supplied in approx. 9cm pots.
