Paeonia lactiflora 'Mother's Choice' is one of the best among all peony types, due to its very high decorative qualities and elegant beauty. Large, double flowers of pure-white colouration can have a bit of a creamy centre on inflorescences, making the appearance slightly more elaborate. Blooming from later spring to early summer, 'Mother's Choice' provides a rich showing of flowers. The flowers are particularly attractive to the eye and provide a soft, sweet fragrance attractive to gardeners and great for attracting florists. The flowers contrast very well with the full and lush green foliage of the plant. 'Mother's Choice' blooms well in full sun to partial shade, responding best to moderate and consistent soil moisture for the development of a deep and healthy root system.
Apart from being vigorous, 'Mother's Choice' is highly esteemed for its requirement of very little care. Even for the gardeners who had never grown or had very little experience in cultivating the excellent variety would not be discarded. They are best grown in well-drained ground that has been enriched with organic matter.
