Ophiopogon Black Dragon

This is a hardy clump-forming perennial able to give you year-round colour and interest. Black Dragon Grass displays stunning jet-black leaves when grown in full sun and this contrast amazingly against brighter green foliage. New leaves emerge a purple green before sunlight gradually deepens their colour and as a clump forming grass this Ophiopogon will form a significant small-medium sized plant. ‘Black Dragon’ looks great at the front of a border or container planting scheme and is well suited to a rock garden where the lighter stones emphasise this grasses' unique pigmentation. 

For the best colour and establishment place ‘Black Dragon’ in full sun, but it can tolerate partial shade. Make sure that it is placed in well-drained soil or moist but well-drained. It is fully hardy so should grow well in exposed or sheltered gardens.
