Nymphaea 'Alba' - White Water Lily
Availability: In stock
The water lily really is the royalty of the aquatic plant world and its wonderful flowers really are something to behold.
This variety has rounded glossy deep green leaves that are quite vigorous and form floating pads on the water surface. Emerging from stalks at the underwater crown are stunning white flowers with waxy upright petals, in their centre are yellow stamens.
As the plant establishes these flowers will appear in numerous numbers, dotted among the Waterlily’s foliage. Waterlily like a still water and a sunny spot, they are traditionally planted in aquatic baskets in a loamy soil. They are sunk at twenty-five centimetres of water at first but then sunk twice that depth once they are established, this is why they make good plants for the centre of most ponds.
