Mahonia eurybracteata 'Sweet Winter'

Mahonia ‘Sweet Winter’ is an amazing compact and bushy Mahonia that gives you all the wonderful blooms and fragrance of traditional Mahonia but without the sharp spines. ‘Sweet Winter’ flowers between November to March and bears vibrant yellow flower clusters on long stems, which are then followed by deep-blue berries. As the name suggests these blooms are highly fragrant and will fill your entire garden with a sweet winter scent. High in pollen, these blooms also provide much needed food sources for solitary winter bees and give your garden wonderful interest and activity during the quieter months. Its dark green, fine foliage contrast brilliantly with the red stems and these leaves emerge in Spring with hints of Bronze. With a medium eventual spread this Mahonia is perfect for planting in a mixed border or as a specimen container plant.

Make sure to place ‘Sweet Winter’ in full sun or partial shade and in well-drained soil. It is hardy so can tolerate levels of exposure and can be planted in any soil type.
