This is a large upright tree form of this much-loved shrub with a clear stem and canopy of foliage and branches. From mid-spring to mid-summer, narrow goblet-shaped, fragrant flowers emerge from slender, dark purple-red buds. These open to slightly twisted petals of purple red on the outside and paler on the inside. ‘Susan’ flowers later than most Magnolia varieties avoiding frost damage and filling your garden with its wonderful spring scent. Its glossy green foliage remains all the way from Spring to autumn and will give your garden a lovely rich colour on beautiful structural stems. This ready to flower tree would fit perfectly in a sunny border or work well as a sole specimen in container planting.

This magnolia can grow in almost any soil type as long as it is well drained and can thrive in full-sun or partial-shade. They work best in sheltered areas away from cold winds.

Supplied in approx. 30 litre containers.

The primary intended use of this plant is to grow food for human consumption.

There are thousands of different plant species that can be consumed, and our extensive range is no exception. We have conveniently listed a large number of edible plants here. Additionally, we have compiled several articles and handy recipes for some of the plants you are less likely to find in supermarkets.

We always recommend conducting your own research before consuming any plant to understand the various ways different varieties can be prepared and consumed. Be mindful of potential allergies when trying anything new and ensure it is suitable for all who may be consuming it.

Some plants or varieties can also be cultivated as animal feed for livestock, such as poultry, game, and livestock reared for consumption. Again, we advise doing your own research to select the most appropriate plants for your livestock.
