Magnolia stellata Rosea - Pink Star Magnolia - Specimen Plant
Availability: In stock
A rare pink form of this popular compact, bushy shrub with mid-green leaves and silky buds which open up to reveal not pure white, but beautiful soft baby pink star-shaped flowers. The blooms are lightly scented, open very early and before the leaves, eventually covering the shrub for several weeks. This is one of the best magnolias for a small garden.
For any garden, our Magnolia stellata 'Rosea' is a must have. This spectacular shrub, an RHS award winner, grows profusions of softly fragrant, bright pale pink star-shaped flowers that bloom from March through to May, sitting on robust stems. These exquisite flowers have a lovely scent, so we suggest planting in areas of the garden where you can appreciate it fully. Due to its size, achieving an ultimate height of 2.5 metres, this compact shrub is an excellent feature for smaller gardens.
Magnolia stellata Rosea shrubs can grow in acidic to neutral soil in sunny or partly shaded areas. With its compact habit, it is possible to prune this shrub to retain a reasonable height. This will also limit the size, meaning it is also suitable for planting in a large patio planter. Supplied in approx 7.5-10 litre containers, these are flowering size plants.
