Magnolia laevifolia x figo 'White Caviar'
Availability: In stock
‘White Caviar’ is a brilliant medium sized tree bought for its stunning flowers and attractive evergreen glossy leaves. It blooms from late spring to early summer, and its fragrant flowers will fill your garden with amazing, sweet seasonal scents. ‘White Caviar’ displays beautiful cream petals which are tinged bright pink on the edges and base, and when open show off stunning, vibrant pink centres.
This Magnolia is a cross between two of the most loved Michelia varieties, laevifolia and figo, and is a unique mix of the two. Great as a single specimen or planted in a mixed border, these trees also respond brilliantly to pruning, which makes them perfect for espalier and growing against a wall. They can also be mass-planted to create an informal screen or hedging.
This magnolia can grow in almost any soil type as long as it is moist but well-drained. It thrives in full sun or partial shade. However, it works best in sheltered areas away from cold winds. Ensure regular watering and feeding if grown in a container. All newly planted magnolias will need regular watering for the first few years. If grown against a wall, additional watering may be required if sheltered from rainfall.
Supplied in approx. 3 litre containers.
