Lobelia siphilitica

Great Blue Lobelia, also called Lobelia siphilitica, is a hardy perennial that livens up gardens in late summer and early autumn. This plant attracts hummingbirds and pollinators with its eye-catching, densely spiked, deep blue to violet tubular flowers. It's a striking option for borders, water gardens, and damp woodland areas because of the rich, lance-shaped green foliage that offers a striking contrast to the vibrant blooms.

Plant in full sun to partial shade in rich, moist, well-drained soil. Because it prefers continuously moist environments, Great Blue Lobelia is perfect for planting next to ponds, streams, or in bog gardens. Water frequently to maintain soil moisture, particularly in arid periods. Deadhead spent flowers to keep them looking nice and to promote continuous blooming.
