Product ref: VEG26736

Availability: Out of stock

The 'Marina di Chioggia' Italian winter squash variety is an exquisite and rare heirloom variety from Italy. This unique dark green squash, with its deeply ribbed and bumpy skin, is well-known for its bright orange flesh that is sweet and dense and works well for roasting, baking, soups, and purees. Gourmet chefs and home gardeners alike love it for its deep flavour and superior storage capabilities.

Plant in rich, well-drained soil that receives full sun. Give plants plenty of room to grow and spread their sprawling vines. Water regularly to maintain an even moisture level in the soil, and mulch to keep moisture in and prevent weed growth. Harvest the squash in late autumn, once the skin has hardened and it has reached its full colour. For one week, cure in a warm, dry location before storing in a cool, dark area.

Supplied in approx. 9cm pot.
