Iris 'Imperator'

Bearded iris 'Imperator' is a beautiful variety prized for its audacious, majestic look. This iris gives a dramatic touch to any garden with its large, velvety, deep purple blooms and eye-catching golden-yellow beard. 'Imperator' is a perfect focal point in borders or a stand-alone feature. It blooms in late spring to early summer and has sturdy stems and elegant, sword-like grey-green foliage.

For optimal flowering, plant in full sun and well-drained soil. To avoid rot, place the rhizomes slightly above the soil's surface. Throughout the growing season, water frequently, letting the soil dry out in between applications. Deadhead spent blooms to promote reblooming and preserve a tidy look.
