Hydrangea paniculata Polestar
Availability: In stock
A reliable and compact deciduous shrub, perfect for a small cottage style garden or courtyard. Reaching just fifty centimetres height and width, this variety of Hydrangea takes up much less space than many of its cousins. It is, though, no less attractive; its woody frame has dark green toothed leaves which they provide the perfect backdrop for the lacy flowerheads that begin to show in early summer and continue to flush right through until the autumn. The flower heads consist of larger white infertile flowers around their rounded head which are centred with many smaller fertile flowers. The white colour will turn to dark pink over time and look great dried on the plant through winter. This plant of the seasons will also give you value for money with its autumn colour. The Hydrangea tolerates a wide range of soil but might be better in a container if your substrate is chalky. It is happy in all aspects and will enjoy a good top-dress of compost in early spring, at the same time cut back last year’s shoots to encourage new flowering wood to grow
Supplied in approx 10 litre containers.
