Hydrangea macrophylla Devine - Large Flowered Mophead Hydrangea - XL Plants

The Fabulous Devine Hydrangea is often to be found in high class florists, but seldom in gardens, as the growers like to keep special varieties such as this to themselves! We at Gardening Express however have luckily been able to persuade one of these specialist growers to part with a small number just for us. Each plant can be expected to throw out 20-30 strong flower heads during their first flowering season in your garden, yielding large heads of blooms that you would typically find in those classy bouquets.

Supplied as powerful well established plants in approx 5 litre containers, these are larger plants, and great value for a specimen of this size and age. Cut to near ground level over winter each year, they then throw up masses of strong new stems and big blooms each summer. Our plants are very strong and ready to grow away with vigour.

Hydrangeas put on good amounts of healthy growth each year and quickly establish, and produce massive, bright flower clusters even when planted in a dull, shady spot. You can also use them as cut or dried flowers too.

This large flowered mop head variety has huge mauve-purple blooms, up to the size of a football when fully established, and these literally cover the plant all summer. In chalky soils they'll be lighter an more pastel coloured, on acidic soils they'll shade a deeper indigo-plum shade, truly stunning, beautiful flowers to make a statement.

Our special Hydrangeas are guaranteed chunky healthy plants, that will flower well all summer and in to early Autumn.
