Hosta 'Whirlwind'

The Hosta 'Whirlwind' is a stunning option for shady garden spaces, with dramatic, twisted leaves and strong variation. Its heart-shaped leaves have a creamy-white core surrounded by deep green edges that grow in colour as the season continues. In mid to late summer, this small perennial produces delicate, pale lavender blooms, which enhance to the already gorgeous foliage's attractiveness. The Whirlwind is ideal for brightening shaded borders, woodland gardens, or container displays, adding texture and colour throughout the growing season.

Plant in moderate to full shade to avoid leaf scorch and keep colours vivid.  The Hosta 'Whirlwind' prefers wet, well-drained soil. Water often, especially during dry periods, to keep the soil continuously moist.  Apply a layer of mulch to conserve moisture and control weeds.   Ferns, astilbes, and heucheras make excellent companion plants, resulting in a lovely and harmonious woodland landscape.
