Hosta 'Chain Lightning'

If ever there was one plant to electrify a shady garden, it's Hosta 'Chain Lightning', the leaves carrying the power. It has very thick, heart-shaped leaves with bright yellow centres, and green to the edges, which look like a flash of light. As the season progresses, the centre of the leaves matures to a creamy white, hence great contrast with the margins. Add tall lavender-coloured flowers to the mid-summer garden or its container display, along with a soft splash of colour and a nice fragrance for its visitors.
