Halimium umbellatum, commonly known as the Sun Rose, is a vibrant addition to any garden, giving you year-round foliage and eye-catching flowers. The bright white petals open from red tinged buds and contrast amazingly with the yellow bases of the flowers, blooming profusely throughout summer.

 

Halimium umbellatum has an upright habit and small dark green leaves. This shrub reaches up to 1 metre in height and width, making it an ideal choice for rock gardens, mixed borders, or as a low hedge. The Sun Rose pairs beautifully with lavender, sage, and other Mediterranean plants, creating a stunning, drought-tolerant display. 

 

For the best growth, place this plant in full sun, although it will tolerate partial shade. Sun Roses love well-drained soil and are drought tolerant making them suited to dry areas.
