Geum rivale

Product ref: P25739

Availability: Out of stock

Geum rivale, sometimes called water avens, is a lovely hardy perennial that prefers damp, shaded spots to grow. With bell-shaped flowers with a hint of yellow at the centre, this plant is beautiful and produces gentle pink to peach-coloured flowers that nod. These blooms provide a delicate yet fascinating accent to woodland gardens, stream banks, or moist, shady borders. They bloom from late spring to early summer. Geum rivale usually spreads to a width of about 30 cm and reaches a height of about 30–40 cm. It produces tidy clusters of lobed, semi-evergreen leaves.

Water avens love rich, wet soil that resembles its native habitat by streams and in damp woodlands, making it ideal for planting in either full or partial shade. It looks great combined with other moisture-loving plants like astelias.
