Availability: In stock

This recently introduced Daphne Eternal fragrance, grown here on our very own nurseries in the UK, has already made it onto our must have list of special plants that we highly recommend. Providing an unbeatable show of flowers, this beautiful evergreen shrub is rarely out of bloom from Spring through to Autumn, making it a truly unbeatable addition to any garden. It's really versatile and we've even seen some people trying it as a decadent low growing hedge.

Eternal Fragrance is unusual in that unlike other Daphne, this tough evergreen flowers on new growth so it simply does not stop producing its intensely fragrant blooms - they just keep on coming. The growth of the plants is neat and compact, with a mature height and spread of around ninety centimetre achieved after around five years.

To really appreciate this evergreen we recommend planting near a pathway or in a patio planter, where you will pass frequently and really enjoy the delicious fragrance. It really is an amazing little beauty, the white flowers, pink in bud, are just produced in such abundance that they almost smother the plant. If you are buying just one new plant for your garden at the moment, we highly recommend this, get one in close to a doorway, where you will fully appreciate the fabulous heady fragrance as you pass!

Supplied growing in approx 1-2 litre containers, high quality, bushy and covered in buds and fragrant flowers in season. All our plants are of fantastic quality, and are of course covered by our 5 year growth guarantee as standard.

Once planted in their final positions, Daphnes will resent being moved, so make sure your choose their final spot carefully or perhaps choose a patio planter? They're also not fond of hard pruning, so keep that in mind too. For the best growth, choose a bright spot that is partially shaded and mulch well in Spring and Autumn to protect and feed the roots. Ensure your soil is light and free-draining for your daphne shrub, as heavy clay soil and poor drainage can cause problems as the roots don't like standing water. Enriching soil with good garden compost or leaf mould in advance of planting will get your Daphne off to a flying start.

If container growing, use Ericaceous Compost for Acid loving plants, feed plants during the growing season, and move planters to a sheltered spot out of the worst of the weather during the coldest spells. During summer, be sure to never allow the soil in container grow specimens to become dried out. It's worth choosing a planter that's large enough to accommodate the plant as it grows.
