Allium Purple Sensation - Ornamental Onion Plant

Alliums, appearing in early summer, are the beloved darlings of every Chelsea Flower Show in recent memory. And with good reason as they are elegant, colourful and provide a wonderful contrast of form in mixed herbaceous borders. Suited to modern and traditional planting styles, the deep colour adds depth to many colour schemes. Alliums will hold attention long after they have faded with their structural seed heads.

Purple Sensation is one of the best for adding variety of form and colour to borders and mixed beds. Purple Sensation blooms from May onwards, producing tennis to soft ball sized lilac purple pompon blooms atop metre tall stalks that soar up from a base of broad-leaved foliage. Supplied in approx. 2-3 litre containers.
