Beautiful Red Haired Little Girl' is the translation of Beni komachi, which is very fitting of this fantastic Acer tree.
Quite Rare and Unusual, this hard to come by variety boasts stunning red foliage and a dwarf compact habit, therefore it is perfect where you may need a specimen tree, but my be concerned other varieties may grow too large over time. Beni Komachi will remaining small and only ever reach a maximum height and spread of two metres at maturity. In Spring the delicate, new foliage is an intense red, this then transitions to dark green with purpleand red highlights and burgundy tinted edges in summer. The show is not over then, as in Autumn Beni Komachi will develope the most amazing vibrant scarlet colouration.
Acer palmatum Beni Komachi is a very easy to grow Japanese Maple, low maintenance and suited to virtually all soils, it will thrive in a well drained fertile spot, and prefers full sun to partial shade to bring out the best colour. It's also the ideal choice for a generous planter as a statement plant on any terrace or patio. Supplied at approx 100-120cms tall in 5-10 litre containers.
