Ficus Carica - Patio Standard Fig Tree - circa 80-120cm

Product ref: F15498

Availability: Out of stock

A gorgeous little fig tree, providing a compact version of a full sized specimen, this has been grown and trained to be a complete miniature plant and would be ideal for planting up in a container on the patio.

It is of fruiting size, so if you have restricted space, like instant results, and have always wanted a fig tree, then this is for you. It would also make an ideal gift, and if you don't want to restrict it in a pot, you can simply plant it out in the garden, and allow it to grow into a full size tree.

Widely regarded as one of the toughest, hardiest and easiest varieties to grow in the UK, providing reliable crops of delicious fresh figs, that of course if you had to buy them in the shops would cost a small fortune. With highly ornamental glossy, palmate leaves, it will do best when grown in a south or south-west facing aspect where it will produce its abundant crop of purple-brown, pear-shaped fruit with red flesh.

These figs are rich and sweet and suitable for picking from August to September after long hot summers in particular. An interesting and easy plant to grow, and one of the oldest fruits in cultivation.

Supplied in approx. 5 Litre containers, at approx. 80-120cm overall height.
