Elaeagnus ebbingei compacta - Standard Tree - circa 150-170cm
Availability: In stock
Elaeagnus ebbingei is a very useful and popular evergreen shrub. Forming quite a large, dense bush it will eventually reach a height of 2.5m-4m but can be pruned to your required size and shape. Leaves are initially spotted but mature to a dark-green yet still retain their silvery undersides. Small, tubular clusters of creamy-white flowers are borne in Autumn, and although they are not overly significant, they fill the air with a delightful, sweet fragrance.
Shade tolerant and versatile, it is most suited to a shrub border where it makes an excellent foil for more ornamental and colourful plants. It can also be used as informal hedge where it will provide year-round screening and interest. ,Â
Supplied at an overall height including the pot of around 150-170cm, consisting of a chunky clear stem (around 100cm tall) crowned by attractive mid-green foliage in approx. 7.5 litre containers.
