Duranta erecta

Duranta erecta is the perfect evergreen shrub to give you elegant summer colour and year-round foliage. This plant blooms throughout summer with the flowers collected in chains and each individual five-petaled flower is a vibrant shade of blue with a white centre. The foliage is also highly ornamental with glossy deep green leaves arranged delicately on upright stems. In autumn brilliant yellow-orange berries known as ‘dewdrops’ appear and attract various birds. Duranta is perfect for container planting on a patio or terrace but is also well suited to border schemes. 

This versatile plant is very tender and is best overwintered indoors. Make sure it is placed in a bright area with full sun and is in moist but well-drained soil.
