Dahlia 'Silver Years' is a gorgeous cultivar distinguished by its elegant and one-of-a-kind bloom colour. Elegant and enormous, dazzling silver-white flowers with faint lavender undertones, especially at the petal edges when illuminated, characterise this dahlia. The big, luxuriant blooms have a formal decorative style that makes them very appealing for floral arrangements as well as landscape displays.

Growing to a height of approximately 90–120 cm, 'Silver Years' is an excellent choice for border planting or as a striking focal point in a cutting garden. It needs well-drained, healthy soil to grow and does best in full sun, which highlights the delicate lavender tones in the blossoms.

Supplied as tubers, the best time to plant is in April and May. To plant them, dig a hole at least 20-30cm square and around 20-30cm deep for each one. Cover the base of the hole with 10cms of compost, or manure and give it a good dousing with a full watering can and then plant the dahlia at a depth of 15-20cms. You will need a stout stake, not just a bamboo cane, to support each plant and it is a good idea to knock this in first and then place the plant by its side. It will need to be lifted in winter - once the foliage dies back simply dig it up and store in a cool, frost free location.
