A lovely variety from the Karma line, dahlia 'Karma Prospero' is cultivated especially for exceptional cut flower performance, including long vase life and strong, straight stems. 'Karma Prospero' has delicate, exquisite pink blossoms that have a tinge of purple in them. It has a refined and timeless appearance due to the exquisite way the petals are arranged into a dense, ornamental ball form.

Reaching approximately 90–120 cm in height, 'Karma Prospero' is ideal for use in garden beds as well as as a cut flower in arrangements. It prefers well-drained, nutritious soil and grows best in full sun, which is necessary for the production of its lush, brilliant blooms.

Supplied as tubers, the best time to plant is in April and May. To plant them, dig a hole at least 20-30cm square and around 20-30cm deep for each one. Cover the base of the hole with 10cms of compost, or manure and give it a good dousing with a full watering can and then plant the dahlia at a depth of 15-20cms. You will need a stout stake, not just a bamboo cane, to support each plant and it is a good idea to knock this in first and then place the plant by its side. It will need to be lifted in winter - once the foliage dies back simply dig it up and store in a cool, frost free location.
